We've included below many of the relative FAQ's.

If you are submitting your transcripts to Common Application member institutions through Parchment Secure Transcript, you need to follow certain steps in a specific order to make sure that your transcript can be matched with your application. As you read the instructions below, keep in mind that you will be managing two different accounts: one for Parchment and one for Common App.

1. I am applying using the Common App and my counselor intends to submit my school forms online.
2. I am applying using the Common App, but my counselor intends to submit my school forms by mail.
3. I am applying to a college that accepts the Common App, but I will be using a different application.

If YOU intend to apply using COMMON APP ONLINE…and YOUR COUNSELOR also intends to submit ONLINE:

• Create an account at http://www.commonapp.org/ and note your Common App ID. You will need it to make sure your transcript gets to the right place.
• Use the School Forms section of the Common App Online to invite your counselor to be a recommender. Doing this will trigger an email message to your counselor providing instructions on how to submit school forms online. Confirm with your counselor that he or she intends to submit school forms online.
• Log into your Parchment account and select the Common App tab.
• Provide your Common App ID – when prompted, confirm that the Common App ID and information (i.e. your name, colleges applied to, counselor name) are correct.
• Your transcript will be sent directly to the Common App Online system where it will be matched by your counselor with your school forms and submitted on your behalf.
• Once you have submitted your transcript to the Common App, your transcript is ready for submission to ALL of your Common App colleges. You do not need to submit one for each “C” college.

If you intend to apply using COMMON APP ONLINE…BUT YOUR COUNSELOR intends to submit BY MAIL:

• Create an account at www.commonapp.org.
• Use the School Forms section of the Common App Online to invite your counselor to be a recommender. Doing this will trigger an email message to your counselor providing instructions on how he or she can opt-out of the online system. When your counselor does this, he or she will be noted in your Common App Online account as an “Offline Provider.”
• Print the downloaded school forms from the School Forms section of your account and give them to your counselor to mail on your behalf.
• Log into your Parchment account and search for the name of one of your Common App colleges on the Academics Destinations tab.
• When the college comes up in the search, you will see a preceding “C.” This indicates that the college is a Common App member college. You will have the option to send your transcript directly to the school (instead of Common App). You will need request transcripts to the individual colleges because your counselor will be submitting his/her reports by mail.
• Your transcript will be delivered directly to the college via Parchment Secure Transcript.
• You must complete this process for every Common App college to which you intend to apply.

If YOU intend to apply to a Common App member college using an application OTHER THAN COMMON APP ONLINE…YOUR COUNSELOR CANNOT SUBMIT FORMS ONLINE FOR THAT COLLEGE:

• Log into your Parchment account and search for the name of one of your Common App colleges on the Academic Destinations tab.
• When the college comes up in the search, you will request that Parchment send your transcript directly to the school (instead of Common App). You will need to request the transcript be sent to the college because you are NOT using Common App to apply to this college.
• Your transcript will be delivered directly to the college via Parchment Secure Transcript.
• You must complete this process for ANY Common App college to which you will apply using a method OTHER THAN Common App Online.
